Recently my hard drive stopped working, which was the one I used to start up, so I switched to an SSD. I’m trying to figure out why Windows 10 won’t install on it. I’ve used the Media Creation Tool on a USB drive and tried again on another one, but it still fails. The message keeps saying the boot drive can’t locate the drivers needed to download Windows. I don’t understand what’s going on since the video I watched didn’t explain this clearly.

Is your system identifying the USB device upon connection? Have you adjusted the boot settings to use the USB port?

It doesn't work with Media Creation tools or during Windows 10 installation.

It stops working when I install Windows 10. The device detects the USB and I configure it to start from there.

Everything is set up for you. Just plug in the USB, turn on the system, go to BIOS, configure boot to USB, save the changes, and restart. The Windows installer launches and then stops. You want to know when exactly it fails during the installation process?

the installer begins moving, then pauses briefly before requesting driver information.

It hasn't happened to me before... Are you asking about specific drivers or just general ones?

I'm working with general drivers. I'm installing Windows 10 again using the USB drive and will record the process for future reference.
