Windows 10 with two operating systems!
I performed an early Windows 10 upgrade and previously ran Windows 8.1. During the process, it didn’t install cleanly and retained all my old files under a folder named "Windows.old" on the SSD. My current setup includes both Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, but the old version is consuming 130GB of space. Would it be possible to run a fresh installation and remove everything?
No, you won't need to enter a product key during a clean install.
HOLD ON, DON'T FOLLOW EVERYONE! IF YOU END UP DISCUSSING CLEANUP, IT WILL LOCK YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO RETURN TO WINDOWS 8.1 IF THINGS GO WRONG. Be sure this is your intention.
For a complete reset, execute the provided link. You'll require a USB drive (ideally 8GB or bigger). If unavailable, use CCleaner and verify the option for "old windows folders."
