Currently I seem to be using a Local Account with admin rights on Windows 10. To fully install or use apps and Cortana, I need to sign in with my Microsoft Account. Presently I don’t have to enter a password on Windows to reach the desktop when signing in. If I do sign in to my Microsoft account to download new apps, will it automatically connect my PC with my account and then ask for a password at the next startup? This is similar to what happened in Windows 8.1, where I had to adjust account settings so I wouldn’t have to enter a password every time I booted up.

I wouldn't rely on a Microsoft Account with Windows 10 unless you're willing to sacrifice any remaining privacy
