Within the initial year or a one-year free upgrade (such as a trial) – hallelujah!

Upgrading during the initial year is complimentary (permanent thereafter) unless someone plans to upgrade later, in which case they'll need to pay.

Ugh... I'm not sure if I should leave 7... Because of drivers and older games.

Windows 8 and 8.1 function adequately; desktop users on Windows 7 generally prefer it over 8/8.1, which costs around $100. It appears Windows 10 is well-suited for both touch and traditional interfaces, reducing the likelihood of conflict.

My dreams became reality. I initially considered waiting a year for Win 10 to release, so spending 100€ on an OS would ensure the latest version. However, I went with YOLO and ended up getting Win 8.1, hoping they’ll stick with this approach.

I have a problem. I purchased Windows 8, upgraded my hardware and performed a clean install, but now my license key isn’t recognized. I’ve obtained a cracked version (I already intended to pay and don’t see a new motherboard as a new machine, even for Microsoft). I also favor clean installs. My goal is to visit the official Windows 10 site, enter my paid key, and download a full installer that I can install on a USB drive.

They're heading in the right direction, but I was concerned about the upgrade. Will the product key transfer to Windows 10? If not, after a year you might be forced back to Windows 7 if you need to reformat. I believe more details are needed before I fully trust this decision. If this is just a trial, I’d prefer to keep a Windows 10 key and buy it myself.
