I verified the built-in disk cleanup tool in Windows, which lists a folder named "windows old" containing remnants of earlier Windows versions. It seems relevant—should I consider removing it? The windows.old version exists for reverting to an earlier state. It will be removed after about two weeks. Your workstation was upgraded last month without issues with any applications. FYI, your operating system and software run on a 500 GB SSD.

Removing windows.old doesn’t speed up your PC; it simply takes away the ability to revert the update, which might actually resolve the problems you were facing before the change.
