It seems Rocket League—and likely other titles—will soon support cross-platform play on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, moving us closer to that vision.
As long as you're not required to pay like on Xbox Live, I'm okay with that.
Steam does have a lot of users...but that doesn't mean much. The only opportunity they are missing out on are the people who are all "I refuse to buy anything except from Steam". Remember that, the majority of those STEAM users are running some version of Windows (that's at least upgrade-able to Windows 10). For people running Windows 10, it's actually easier to just buy your games on Windows Store and easier to launch games. I'm not saying it's the best place to buy your games but it is slightly easier. Microsoft has every right to have their own service, so does EA, Ubisoft, and Blizzard. My opinon is that, I like that they are giving STEAM a tiny bit of competition. When EA started their out distribution service everyone got mad and barely gave it a chance. It had many advantages of STEAM but everyone nitpicked it's issues or just plain boycotted it. Nowadays Valve only updates Steam in ways that will directly increase their revenue (and of course bug fixes). Without a strong competitor they have no pressure to improve things like user-interface, user-experience(quality-of-life) and customer service. Origin was constantly adding new features consistently in the begging but my guess was when it wasn't being really adopted, they layed off a bunch of developers. Examples of Origin Features/Advantage - Twitch integration for Every game - Great Customer Service (they offered refunds and even gave out coupons to people, I believe they had an actual phone number too) - Faster Browser - Subjectively better UI ( I personally find things like the chat much better to look at then the way STEAM displays chat messages, STEAM also looked much worst a year ago than it does now, UI and Store) - You could overlay windows on top of your game with a set transparency
Absolutely! It's frustrating when you're limited to a single storage drive. You really need more flexibility with your operating system installation.
There’s a "Move" feature to relocate your apps after installation, though it doesn’t work properly. Additionally, it generates a folder that remains inaccessible even after adjusting permissions. I ended up restarting Ubuntu and removing it entirely.
