Released at Build 2016, new features like disabling VSync, GSync and FreeSync are set to launch on the UWP in May. What are your thoughts? Is Microsoft finally paying attention to what gamers need? Additionally, they’re introducing modding support for UWP games. The details are still unclear, but it sounds interesting. Edited March 30, 2016 by JFischer00

They seem to be experiencing widespread disapproval from gamers, and it's clear that no business would invest in customers unless it benefits them directly.

I believe Microsoft is paying attention to gaming trends while also moving toward a path independent of Steam. I don't expect much from the UWP since games aren't available there through Steam, and I think they're missing out on potential opportunities because of the huge number of Steam users. This is just my perspective.

They indeed displayed converted Steam titles such as AOE II HD and Witcher III functioning as UWP applications, adding UWP-specific elements like a live tile displaying active players. The update encompassed multiplayer support, modding capabilities, and other features.

I haven't played Forza Motorsport 4 or Horizon since the Xbox 360 era and only got a console once. I'm keeping an eye on Forza Motorsport 6 Apex; if it succeeds, we might eventually have complete versions for PC.

Forza 4 was the final Forza title I played, though I really enjoyed racing games on PC. However, the game lacks a wide variety of cars compared to others.

Is this your unique perspective on Microsoft possibly shifting away from consoles toward PC gaming?

UWP is not linked to cancer. It should not be used in that context.

It seems like many individuals lack access to devices that can run games typically played on consoles. They’d need to address that issue before playing.
