Windows 10 upgrade encountered issue - error code c1900101, version 20017.
I own an Asus Q501LA laptop that came with Windows 8. Because that OS is quite outdated, I switched to Windows 7. I've been attempting a switch to Windows 10 for two days without any luck. Each time I encounter the error code c1900101 20017, it restarts me back to Windows 7 and also disables the upgrade process. I've tried the standard upgrade method, used the media tool, and applied the ISO from the official tool. I'm certain it's not the correct ISO since I've previously upgraded three other machines with the same USB drive. Some sources suggest this issue stems from BIOS settings, but loading optimized defaults in my BIOS disables Launch CSM, preventing Windows 7 from booting. I don't see an option to enable 'UEFI only' and therefore can't adjust that setting. I also don't want a clean install because it would reset the activation status. Additionally, I've replaced the hard drive with an SSD, so I'm at a standstill. These are the only entries in my Setuperr.log: 2015-08-01 13:46:56, Error [0x08085f] MIG MigHost: CMigPluginSurrogate::LoadAndRegisterServerInThreadContext: LoadLibraryExW(C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\ReplacementManifests\Microsoft-Windows-RasServer-MigPlugin\RasMigPlugin.dll, LOAD_WITH_ALTERED_SEARCH_PATH) failed gle=0x7f.[gle=0x0000007f] 2015-08-01 13:46:56, Error [0x080863] MIG MigHost: CMigPluginSurrogate::COMGenericThreadingHostThreadProc: LoadAndRegisterServerInThreadContext() failed hr=0x8007007f.[gle=0x0000007f]
It looks like the Windows 10 and Windows 8 installers aren't detecting my SSD. The Windows 7 installer works fine. I reviewed my BIOS settings, but nothing altered anything.
