Hello everyone, I searched for someone with the same issue as me, but nothing turned up. I own a HP Pavilion X2 with a good budget—two units for $2 each. I upgraded to Windows 10, but my PC lacked enough storage, so I used an external USB drive. The computer was powered on during the update, and I tried to keep all my files intact (though I didn’t back them up properly). After a few hours, I thought the update was complete. However, it failed—my system entered a boot loop. Every time it restarts, the HP logo appears, followed by a loading screen. For about a second, a white square appears, then it displays “Attempting to recover OS” and attempts to restore the old system, but it never succeeds. It just keeps restarting. I’m really struggling and would appreciate any advice or solutions you can offer. Thank you in advance!

It sounds like you're asking for help with a manual fix, but the question is a bit unclear. Could you provide more details about what you're trying to fix? That way I can assist you better!

You can access safe mode by using the Windows Start menu and selecting "Advanced startup" or "Restart now." If it doesn’t boot, try pressing the power button and holding the Shift key during startup to enter safe mode.

Press F8 at startup to open a menu that lets you enter safe mode. If this doesn’t work, the alternative approach won’t be viable.
