Windows 10 the file or folder is damaged and can't be read + boot manager issues
The file or folder is damaged and not accessible, which is why I'm encountering issues with the operating system or the C: disk. Updating Windows isn't working either. The recommended fix is using the chkdsk utility, which will scan the drive during the next Windows restart. However, whenever I try to run chkdsk, it stops because the boot manager appears. This problem is worsening. Windows 7 is the default startup option, and it's no longer installed. I attempted to set Windows 10 as the default and remove Windows 7 from msconfig, but it didn't help. The file or directory remains corrupted and unreadable. I tried resetting the PC, but the boot manager interferes if I do it through settings, and recovery mode causes further errors. There was an issue resetting the system—no changes were applied. It's really frustrating. Please help if anyone can assist. Thank you.
