Windows 10 system crashes repeatedly into a blue screen of death.
My PC operated normally in the morning. After disconnecting it, I brought it back home and reconnected it, which started working again but began installing drivers unexpectedly. I'm encountering an error message saying "system thread exception not handled," without any details about the cause. Even when trying safe mode, the problem persists. I've already followed the troubleshooting steps from that forum link, but nothing resolved it. I only attempted method 1 and can't access safe mode. I'm worried about losing my data and don’t want to format the system again, as I did about a month ago due to another Windows issue.
When the next time you need backups, use Macrium Reflect. It’s free, and if you can’t access safe mode, you might have to reinstall. Otherwise, someone else can help, as restoring the system could be tricky.
I don’t need anything crucial to save. My Windows setup is mainly for gaming, so backing up that space feels unnecessary—I can always re-download later. The issue is it’s frustrating and slows down the installation process, just like before. Even if I had data, I’d still be able to reach it through the Hackintosh boot.
You're encountering a problem where Windows isn't fixing itself through its built-in tools, and factory resets aren't helping either. You're unable to access Windows or boot from a recovery drive.
