Noted the new "mobile hotspot" option on your laptop. I'm wondering if it can function alongside a VPN connection. It would be helpful to establish a secure hotspot for your other devices while staying connected to the VPN. You mentioned you've tried this before, but the Wi-Fi didn't work when the VPN was active. Turning off the VPN seems to restore connectivity. Is there a way to set this up?
It seems to depend on whether your laptop includes a SIM card and can utilize it for data access.
You can test it yourself by sharing your Wi-Fi. I’m using my workstation PC (separate from the laptop trying to set up the VPN hotspot), and it functions properly. My workstation also has mobile hotspot enabled—after setting up the SSID and password, I can connect my phone to the shared network. It seems this doesn’t require a data or SIM card, even though it’s labeled as a mobile hotspot.
Thought it did .. no w10 laptop here, just a core duo one running bunsenlabs (extremely light Debian) and the CURSOR LAGS
You're wondering if you can connect your VPN through a hotspot without issues. It seems the video you watched might have used a different client than what's currently on your device, which could affect performance. I'm here to help clarify whether this is feasible for you.
Yeah, it can be a router per se! Here's a screenshot on my (custom built) workstation desktop and it also has the option, and it works!: http://prntscr.com/g6er7z
Wow, I didn’t catch any of the latest laptop updates. Canada, your $550 budget is tight!
