Updated information: Experienced a BSOD and a focus loss issue again yesterday, indicating the problem seems ongoing. Frequency appears to be decreasing, and my internet connection is now more stable. *shrug* More recent update: I disconnected the components to begin a new build, using my existing PSU and a 1070 until the 30s become available in Canada. I’m unsure if I’ll invest time troubleshooting this further, given that my modular PSU likely lacks a second 24-pin cable, making it impractical to keep both systems running together... Thanks for the advice.
I think you took out your USB wireless adapter. Usually these devices use a Realtek chip. That’s a good one. Still, you should check the rest of the circuit too.
Yep. As soon as I checked the hardline in and tested it, the USB dongle stopped working. As noted, the focus stealing problem keeps happening sometimes, and I've still experienced one BSOD in the past few days. It looks like at least two issues were present, but the USB WiFi receiver was definitely part of them. Without it, the system ran much more smoothly with no further changes needed.
I started assembling a new PC using only a few parts from the old one. The issue persists, possibly linked to the Folding@Home client. Are others experiencing similar problems with new windows opening during the background process?
