I also suggest using LTSC; I frequently run it in a VM and it performs significantly better than the standard version.

Snicker at the idea! Setting up Windows 10 thoroughly takes more effort than just flipping through a few options. For a detailed guide, check out the link provided—there’s something for every version from XP up to the latest. If you’re aiming for a stable experience, starting with LTSB is smart and saves you time. Installing Classic Shell can help you get a Windows 7-like feel without all the hassle.

The ultimate Windows experience might come from specialized tools like Ntlite. However, achieving it requires patience, expertise, and numerous attempts. Once you begin discarding files, stopping isn't an option. Afterward, Windows 10 can be fully tailored to your preferences, free of bloatware and optimized for minimal storage usage. The ideal setup typically uses around 2.5 GB after installation, consumes about 650 MB of memory, and runs 40 services in a 64-bit version. Expect some issues with the Event Viewer, but performance will remain near zero CPU load and constant HDD activity. Extremely responsive for basic tasks, yet frame rates in games or benchmarks will be nearly identical (just a 0.1% difference) on current hardware. You’ll truly dominate here, not just as a user but as a master, especially when upgrading offline or rebuilding from scratch to the latest version. I’m currently using it and it functions even on an old laptop with just 1 GB of RAM.

LTSB is my regular route. Thinking about switching to LTSC soon, or perhaps going back to 7 lol.
