Windows 10 startup problems.
Windows 10 startup problems.
Hello, I'm facing an unusual problem with my Windows 10 system. One day I tried to start my computer and it wouldn't boot, showing a message that winload.efi is missing. I was stuck in a loop trying to run the automatic repair, but it didn't help. After checking my BIOS settings, everything seemed okay. I booted from the Windows Media Creation Tool on an external drive to reinstall Windows, cleared out the old OS from the NVMe SSD, and installed the new version. Once the installation was done, I restarted and attempted to boot again, but encountered another error: "A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed" with code 0xc000000e. In my BIOS, I noticed that the NVMe SSD isn't being recognized—only the Samsung EVO 860 appears, which doesn't have Windows installed. I tried booting from the EVO drive by accident, and it worked (it seems there are two Windows versions available). However, when I turned on the PC normally, the same error appeared. The suggested fix is to go into BIOS, select the EVO drive that isn't listed, and try booting again so you can choose between the two Windows versions, with one functioning properly. My main question is why the real SSD isn't appearing in the boot menu and what's wrong with normal booting. Please help me resolve this frustrating issue.
Adjust all settings to the standard defaults. Make sure the BIOS includes a secure erase feature for SSDs. Uncertain about the MOBO you're using—obtain a fresh ISO from Microsoft.
Frequent problem occurs where Windows stores boot files on the incorrect drive. The solution involves disconnecting the 860, reinstalling Windows on an NVMe, then reconnecting and adjusting the boot priority to use the NVMe.
All settings left in their original state. The board is ROG STRIX Z390-E Gaming and the ISO comes from Microsoft.
