The title clearly describes the situation. I attempted to turn on the boot menu in cmd but it didn’t work. My motherboard is a Z270X gaming 7, and there are issues after updating BIOS and drivers via the Gigabyte app centre. Any suggestions on how to restore the boot menu?
Unfortunately, the issue persists. It seems I don't receive any display output until I view the Windows log on the screen.
Examine the back of the motherboard to identify the cable connected to the monitor, regardless of whether it's plugged into an igpu or dgpu port. Connect it to the other port to enable display during boot, allowing you to adjust the BIOS settings for the alternative GPU. A BIOS update may reset all configurations, including the default GPU that starts the display.
The GPU has four ports yet only one HDMI available, preventing me from connecting the cable elsewhere.
Your intel mobile has an integrated GPU, and most intel CPUs include a video output port. If your motherboard features any kind of video output, connect it to the monitor for display during BIOS. If a driver update altered the configuration to use another GPU port, you'll need adapters and test each port.

So what setting am i changing in bios so I get the boot display back when I plug the hdmi cable back into the gpu?
Is it the Initial display output? I currently have that set to IGFX
Also on a related note. I've just purchased a Radeon 6800 but i can't get that to boot at all. The gpu lights up when i switch on the pc but i get absolutely no diplay.
Turn off iGPU completely unless necessary. It takes up a share of memory, reducing the total RAM available on your system.
I've configured it to PCIe slot one and that's my 1060, which is showing the boot menu once more, so thank you for that.
I'm still not seeing any display output with my new Radeon 6800.
I've connected the Radeon to the same slot as my 1060 and plugged in the HDMI cable into the MB.
Is there a way from within Windows to check if the MB can detect the Radeon? Or do I need to install Radeon drivers so the MB can recognize it at boot?
It's been around 20 years since I had an ATI GPU. With Nvidia cards, they always boot into Windows, and then I would install the GPU drivers.
