I've been using Windows 10 smoothly, but today the Start Menu stopped working again. It happened once before and fixed easily. Now I've tried all the fixes, but it doesn't work. I can't go back to Windows 8.1 because I need to access settings through the Start Menu. If anyone has a solution for both issues, please let me know, thank you!

It occurs with me occasionally. Restarting fixes the problem each time.

I've restarted it numerous times, but it still doesn't work.

I'm not alone in this! I resolved the issue on my parents' machine by restoring before a major update and on my own PC by restarting after each reboot. Use the right-click start menu, select Control Panel, then explore files via Explorer.

Have you discovered a fix? Each time I tap it, it fails to appear. The most recent issue occurred after a restart, so I reached out to Microsoft chat support (included in Windows). They suggested running sfc/scannow and another command, which eventually resolved the problem. Recently, Cortana wouldn’t open unless I restarted the device.

On my system, another issue showed up after this occurred—Display Settings and Personalize menus didn’t open and gave errors. To resolve it, I opened a command prompt with admin privileges and executed the cleanup command. Let me know if that worked.

I understand the start menu appears as a GPU rendering. I also recall Windows 10 has an issue where the start menu fails to display, possibly linked to GPU driver problems. Have you updated the drivers recently? Would trying one version before help you?
