Hi, I set up Windows 10 on my Asus Ultrabook and noticed the startup time is now about 10 minutes. Back in Windows 8.1 it was under 2 minutes. It runs with Intel 4200u, 4GB RAM, a HGST hard drive with a 24GB SanDisk SSD. I’m not sure what’s causing the slowdown—I’ve restarted several times and fast boot is enabled. Most things aren’t starting up during boot. Appreciate the help!

Did you install it on the 24GB SSD or the HDD?

Confirming the placement you mentioned. It seems there might be an issue that developers are working on to resolve.

Welcome to Windows or any other launch where perfection isn't guaranteed—just give it a few months.

As an upgrade, I would attempt a fresh installation because you now possess the key.

Hi, just an upgrade went through. Not sure what Windows did during installation. I ran around six updates for Windows 10 on my laptops—three of them are the same Asus model. The one taking the longest to boot is the only one. Thanks, Alan Lau

Perform a fresh setup with a new key. If performance remains poor, there may be an issue.
