I didn't receive the icon, though I just got the straight ISO file.

There could be drivers issues causing delays, but I prefer staying on Windows 7 because it looks good and I don’t want to change it.

Windows 7 functions perfectly for me, but until I’m sure it will continue to do so, I’ll stay here with my current operating system.

I improved both my computer and my laptop. I’m aware of around 100 others who did the same. None experienced problems. It’s hard to understand why someone faced issues unless their Windows 7 or 8 installation was nearly broken.

This appears to be an issue. Proceeding with a fresh setup now.

The core problem often lies in an outdated Windows 7 or 8 setup with numerous conflicting files and junk entries. Even if your installation seemed fine before, upgrading can trigger complications and unexpected errors. Unless you're certain your system is tidy—meaning no random programs were installed that might clash—performing a full cleanup could improve stability. A fresh install will eliminate most issues. However, if the problems stem from hardware drivers, a clean setup won't fix them.
