Windows 10 reservation isn't visible in your taskbar. Here are some possible solutions.
Hey everyone, I've been working on fixing the Win10 icon issue in my taskbar over the past few days. Initially, I faced problems with Windows Update—updates would succeed but not install properly. After resolving that and getting the GWX folder installed, I tried various methods through the GUI, but nothing worked. I found a solution on a Microsoft forum page, which suggested reviewing a batch file that seemed genuine. Running it resolved my issue, so I thought I’d share it with you. Some might not want to run batch files, so I shared the source anyway. Hope this helps! Enjoy your Windows 10 setup.
The answer is a false prophet! It didn’t deliver anything good across two different offers.
I tried Method #1 and it helped me. Curious about why. One of my desktops started showing the first-day icon, then my laptop followed. Despite having all updates, my main PC, tablet, and another laptop are still slow. I reviewed the batch file before running it—Method #1 just added a new key in the registry, which seemed enough. I’ll check the other devices tomorrow to see if they have the same entry or something else that caused the issue. Method #3 is similar but slower, might take an hour and require a reboot afterward. Edit: On my tablet, Method #1 also worked. I also noticed my laptop already has the registry entry plus many more, and its "UpgEx" value is orange instead of green—what does that mean?
