If you intend to upgrade your system soon, avoid installing Windows 10. It relies on hardware compatibility, similar to Windows 7, whereas Windows 8 and 8.1 were more flexible with hardware changes. Source: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/features

It's really late. Have you been isolated without access to the internet?

Hardware options are available. The choice also relies on the licensing model—OEM, retail, or system builder.

It seems some people weren't aware either. I searched online a few days back, but no results appeared. Luckily, I upgraded my PC—memory and processor—before installing Windows 10.

It indicates you can reinstall the system. Windows 8 enabled me to set up new hardware without any software modifications, apart from updating drivers.

If you wish to create notes on a touchscreen, that’s the goal. The license key for your Windows isn’t tied to your hardware setup. I’ve rephrased it for clarity.

Windows 10 remains the same, it only causes issues if you modify the motherboard or something major, which is similar to Windows 8. Microsoft doesn<|pad|> over all this as long as the license is used on just one machine at a time. Activation can be annoying sometimes, but you can call the support line and explain the single-computer usage, then provide your ID to get a new one back. Everything works fine afterward.
