So initially, my PC setup includes an ASRock X370 AM4 socket with AMD X370/DDR4/Quad CrossFireX support, plus SLI/SATA3, USB3.1/M.2, Wi-Fi, A&GbE, ATX configuration. It runs an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 processor paired with a Wraith Spire cooler (YD1600BBAEBOX) and comes pre-installed with a HyperX Fury Black 16GB RAM kit (2x8GB) at 2133MHz. The system also features a MSI Computer GTX 1070 ARMOR 8G OCV1 card, NVIDIA GeForce graphics, and a BarraCuda SATA 6Gb/s SSD with 64MB cache. The internal hard drive is a Seagate 2TB 3.5-inch drive with EVGA 650 GQ 80+ GOLD 650W power supply. I also have an Asus VX238H 23.0" monitor cooler and a wired gaming keyboard.
I currently possess an 8GB USB flash drive for Windows installation. During setup, I used Windows 10 via USB, entered the boot menu, selected the USB drive, and proceeded with installation. After partitioning the drive, I tried installing Windows but encountered a blue screen displaying a frown face with the message "stop code." Most frequently it was a bad pool error, though other codes appeared occasionally.
After some investigation, I suspected driver issues. Since I lack an optical drive, I attempted to update the UEFI and download drivers via Ethernet and USB. When I reached the Windows install window asking to choose storage, I clicked "load drivers" but no drivers showed up in the list.
I’m quite puzzled and would appreciate any guidance or advice. Thank you in advance for your help.
I'm feeling really upset, worried, and scared that my new computer might not be working.
Disconnect all other HDDs, keep the SSD connected. If you altered BIOS settings, reset to defaults. Insert the UEFI USB drive, select the correct partition when prompted, remove any existing partitions and reinstall there. Test the setup. If issues persist, the USB might not be properly configured—use another PC/laptop with the .iso file for Windows (re-download if needed) and run Rufus with UEFI and GPT settings. In Windows 10, drivers usually aren't required during installation, just follow the standard steps afterward.
