They suggest using totalsystemcare in the video, but you can opt for CCleaner to clean the registry since totalsystemcare often overstates its role and the issues it reports. I tested it about ten years ago, and it consistently uncovered new problems—so much so that even a 16-year-old could spot something odd. I stopped using it, and surprisingly, my computers still function properly. Edit: After reviewing the video with over 600 dislikes and just 200 likes, it seems the content might not be as trustworthy as claimed.

Consider using the pre-built disk cleanup option instead. I also discovered an article that needs a registry modification, but editing it triggers an error about changing the value.

Disk cleanup and registry clean-up are distinct processes.

We aren't sure, it could be, and you'll need to test it yourself. Note: you may have damaged important system files, so you'll have to restore and reinstall Windows.

I managed to apply the update myself by fetching it from the Windows update catalog, should wait for the next update to check if the issue persists.

Uncertain about the corruption, I've observed the background now appears as solid black. Also, the welcome screen lacks the spinning circular dots you were expecting.

A deep black screen often indicates a copied Windows installation, though a legitimate copy may need reactivation and could require a fresh setup.
