owning an enterprise license isn't against the law, and the distribution of such licenses isn't regulated.

They mentioned users at home can't receive a business Windows version. I clarified it was based on legal reasons, though technically it's possible. I believe I went a bit too far in explaining.

A more appropriate term would be "legitimately," meaning it aligns with the law or established rules and principles.

On est canadien .. peut-être en français ou ... le point est que les types de licence ne sont pas une question de loi, c'est une question de conditions générales

I value the precision of bilingual grammar more than that of someone with limited formal education. Your thoughts aren't incorrect, and the focus should indeed be on understanding.

For Windows, the main variations lie in software capabilities. With Windows 10 I’d choose Windows 10 Pro since it lets you turn off updates and gives greater oversight of privacy matters.

No Windows update ever impacts how your programs or games run. Enterprise isn't designed for personal use; it's a volume licensing option. You have two main paths: Home or Pro. Pro offers: connection to your PC through Windows Remote Desktop from any device (any edition), access to Hyper-V, BitLocker encryption if your hardware supports it. It also includes Group Policy and the ability to join a domain for business needs. You can find a detailed comparison here: http://wincom.blob.core.windows.net/docu...e_FY17.pdf The cost difference is minimal. Ultimately, decide based on whether you need Remote Desktop, Hyper-V, or BitLocker features. If none matter, choose Home.

A Windows 7 Ultimate license is compatible with Windows 10 Pro. If it's more affordable or identical in price, it's better to obtain the Windows 7 Ultimate key. This way, your license will serve both Windows 7 Ultimate and Windows 10 Pro purposes. Additionally, certain applications run smoother on Windows 7 while others excel in Windows 10.
