Exploring a new SSD, I noticed the actual storage needed in Windows 10 Pro differs from what I expected. Initially assuming around 80GB, I discovered that the empty space on my drive isn’t what the OS consumes.

Assuming the system is reserved, it occupies approximately 34GB.

Interesting, I searched for that and the first result didn’t appear. Still, 20GB is quite sufficient.

It bothers me when others do that, particularly the clumsy "Let me search online for you" app. Still, it’s impressive. Your reply was better—I didn’t realize you could look up storage details in Windows 10. Sweet, I have 50GB of temporary files that need clearing.

The ISO file is only around 5GB, but it grows to roughly 30-35GB after installation for Pro x64. On standard Windows 10 x86 devices, tablets use about 20GB.

Reminder: Windows won't install on anything under 60GB. I tried this a few years ago on an MSAT with 20GB and it refused to install.

It will be a 250GB SSD. I was just checking how much space remains for games after the operating system, required files, and other program data.

The problem isn't with Windows itself. It's related to the settings and configuration files saved on the operating system drive.

It seems like you're dealing with a storage issue where the total capacity is over 50GB, leaving only 200GB available for other uses. That works for you.
