In the Display Settings, after selecting the advised resolution, navigate to Scaling. Begin at a 100% increase for the intended size. If the monitor is older, it may encounter problems with your GPU's maximum resolution or refresh rate.

the screen display settings are 1280 by 720 active signal resolution, scaling is configured at the default 100%

It might be the problem—old monitor and outdated GPU. I just tried to see if that’s the cause.

The clearest explanation is often the main cause, regardless of how absurd it seems. Your Brother's old monitor can't handle the display quality you managed to get on your screen.
