Hi, over the last couple of weeks my PC has been having problems where it occasionally stops without a crash screen. I can still control the mouse and most running programs, but nothing responds and the whole system freezes. I can open the taskbar and restart or shut down, though a full reboot is needed. This started after running a particular MATLAB script—it happened every time I used that code. It resolved when I copied it into a new file. At first I thought it was an SSD issue, but tests with Windows and Samsung found no problems. Recently the same thing happened twice: once without using the PC, once while controlling it remotely via AnyDesk while running a Jupyter notebook, and again with a short (~50 lines) linear fit code. All temperatures look normal. I really need your assistance!

Have you attempted to execute "sfc /scannow" to check your system's health? It might indicate an issue with your software.

You can view the results by checking the repair summary or logs provided after the process completes.

They often provide a log file showing the changes made, though most of it relates to your Windows system files. I wouldn't be concerned since I don't understand what's happening underneath. I mainly act as tech support for my classmates.

Honestly, I’m not sure. After removing the fake MATLAB file, I still can’t pinpoint why it crashed. Perhaps we should just observe if it happens again.

Being unresponsive often hints at low memory and possible swapping. Consider keeping Task Manager open and monitoring memory during future issues. Your program or MATLAB might have a memory leak, decreasing available space with each run.

Hey everyone, I followed your advice and it kept happening three times over the weekend. The latest issue was when I paused a YouTube video for about 15 minutes and it crashed again. I also tried keeping my task manager open, but it didn’t show anything and just stayed blank. Any suggestions? Thanks!
