OS X isn't very efficient, especially when only a few programs are running. You might notice it using a lot of memory—around 5GB—just by having a couple apps open. However, the CPU usage tends to be quite high as well. Apple still has a lot of improvements to make.

OSX 10.9 ran exceptionally well. OSX 10.10 needs significant improvements.

I saw the same thing on my Brother Mac Pro too—it's not as smooth in 10.10, but 10.09 works well!

OSX performed well until version 10.6, then its performance declined significantly.

They are shifting away from their old customer base and now focus solely on convincing iSheep to keep purchasing their products. The emphasis on feature x is becoming irrelevant online. Integration with mobile platforms is appreciated, though they seem unaware that customers won’t immediately buy everything after a sale. Mac OS X is slowing down, so I plan to switch to Windows and Linux in the future.

It seems like Apple is really upset about something, huh?

They clearly don’t prioritize this. Only a tiny fraction of their users run Windows 10 on MacBooks.
