You’re aiming to upgrade your setup by swapping the HDD for a new SSD while keeping Windows 7 running. Yes, you can install Windows 10 on the fresh SSD by selecting it during installation. After that, you’ll be able to format the old HDD as needed. Just make sure to back up any important data before proceeding.

No, however, after upgrading Windows you can perform a fresh installation—then you might use it to create a duplicate on the new SSD.

I usually set everything on a single drive, then adjust the remaining drives using disk management. Take out the HDD, insert the SSD, set up Windows 10, and once everything is ready, reconnect the HDD and format it via disk management.

You can easily duplicate data onto a fresh disk by simply copying and pasting it. It’s straightforward and works well for most tasks.

When you remove the HDD and install the SSD, the Microsoft applet needed for Windows 10 won't be available.

The simplest method involves creating a Windows 10 USB drive from the ISO file and performing a fresh installation, after which you format the storage devices.

Sure! I’d love to help with that. Just need the steps to install Windows 10 on a USB drive and boot from it.
