I own 2GB of RAM and 28GB of HDD on my laptop, which is Asus. I only use it for MS Word, Chrome, and some university tasks. I’m planning a clean install and the system suggests 16GB for 32GB and 20GB for 64GB. Would saving 4GB of storage on the HDD make a noticeable difference compared to using 64GB?

If your laptop is from 2006 or newer, you can use 64-bit applications, as most current programs support them. However, certain programs still require 32-bit only settings, such as Adobe Suite.

I received it last year, yet RAM seems to be the sole factor for 32-bit systems.

Your laptop supports 64-bit, just set up Windows 10 64-bit.

other factors aren't the sole concern—using a 64BIT system is definitely a smarter choice, particularly when you must execute a 64-bit application for any reason

If you're concerned about storage, consider upgrading to a new SSD. A 120GB model costs around thirty pounds on Amazon UK.

Many programs are now being released for 64-bit systems, meaning older 32-bit operating systems won't work with them.

I have windows 10 64bit on a 2gb ddr 3 laptop... there really is no more reason to get 32bit windows nowadays, back in the day when WinXP 32 bit with 4gb of ram would give better performance than WinXP 64bit with 6gb~8gb ram are long dead, now you want to have 64bit regardless your memory amount.

Can you really launch a browser from there? W10 consumes an enormous amount of memory even when idle, surpassing the usage of Mac OS X or Linux. The operating system alone quickly fills around 1GB.
