It's currently 9:34pm EST while your computer shows 1:18pm. The issue started a long time ago and the Windows clock isn't keeping accurate time. I've tried syncing to the Windows time server, but soon after it starts losing hours instead of minutes. The sync sometimes works, but not reliably. I've also attempted to adjust the time manually, yet the problem persists. Searches mention the Windows Time Service or changing the time source, but these fixes haven't helped. Any suggestions?

Consider replacing the CMOS battery on the motherboard.

Time zone is accurate; it isn't just a few hours off. The multimeter indicates the battery voltage at 3.27 volts.

Check if your setup is running at a higher speed than intended and if any software manipulates timing for performance.

I haven’t overclocked my system or done anything unusual for gaming. I made sure the CMOS battery has solid contact and verified the CPU socket. I manually adjusted the time last night, and it still works well—surprising. Still puzzled about why I sometimes can’t connect to the Windows time server despite trying to sync. This Windows installation is almost three years old, which could be a record for me.
