Windows 10 occasionally stops unexpectedly.
Hello, I've looked into the "fresh start" feature in Windows 10 and tried using a driver booster to see if there were any issues with faulty drivers. I checked the RAM for errors and tried many different options, but it's an older laptop (Asus Rog GL751JY, i7-4710HQ, GTX980m). It recently got a new Samsung SSD 860 EVO, a 1TB HDD, and a 120GB Kingston SSD installed. The laptop isn't experiencing thermal throttling even during full tests. Windows has been updated for about six months. My main problem is that the system freezes completely at random, not shutting down. Sometimes it crashes during boot (error 0xc000000f), and I've tried solutions online but nothing helped. Occasionally, when playing games like PUBLICGAME or Spotify, it freezes too. The issue seems to happen even when idle or loading. My main concern is whether the Samsung SSD might be the cause. If so, how can I prove it's faulty for warranty purposes? I'm really stuck and would appreciate any advice. Thanks!
Using only Samsung devices temporarily, disconnecting any other storage.
After two format changes on the Samsung SSD, the PC no longer freezes. However, I face new issues: I can't edit any files on the HDD because of lack of permissions. I tried using the CMD command to remove read-only flags and granted full access even in the security settings, but my files remain restricted. This prevents me from backing up certain files to the cloud due to access issues. Any suggestions? Other advice? How can I resolve this?
Claim full control over all your files and folders. Use built-in system tools to manage them. Ensure everyone has the necessary access.
