Windows 10 occasionally lags and needs a restart.
Hey everyone, I've been dealing with this problem for a while now. After a while—maybe after a few games or so—I notice W10 starts to stutter. There are sudden lag spikes and the mouse won't respond properly, then it kicks back. It happens whether I'm using the desktop or another app. I've checked that my CPU, RAM, and storage aren't full, even when the computer is idle. Some folks say it might be related to drivers, but I've got the latest ones installed. Video playback seems fine, though opening the start menu causes a big lag. Have anyone else experienced this? I've looked into it before, but no clear fix found. Thanks for any tips!
It might be useful to check temperatures even when they seem improbable. If the NVMe card is near the GPU, it could generate extra heat, possibly explaining the issue after gaming.
That's not the case, the only possibility left seems a failing RAM stick. Have you checked or replaced them to resolve the problem?
I’ve conducted RAM stick tests before thinking they’d fail, but the issue turned out to be my GPU. The RAM worked perfectly, seated properly. *GPU was later swapped... Sad to say RX 580 at its advertised price.*
Began playing Paladins right away and it crashed heavily. After hours of tweaking, rendering, and managing the video, there was no lag or stutter—everything worked smoothly. This doesn’t seem right.
