The update introduced a new language pop-up bar that appears when you press Alt+Shift and stays active when Shift is held. To remove it entirely, you’ll need to disable or customize the pop-up settings in your system preferences.

Never made the change. Probably opened the Control Panel and experimented with Language settings.

On Windows moved *** To eliminate pop-ups, turn off keyboard shortcuts. This provides choices to ignore or modify them when they appear.
