It seems you're comparing two laptops. One has 4GB RAM and a 500GB HDD, while the other is more affordable with 2GB RAM and 320GB storage.

I own an SSD with 8GB of RAM, which gives me a decent balance. I wish I had invested more in RAM for a dedicated GPU instead, but I guess experience helps. It might even boost its resale worth.

I’m hoping to secure 4GB soon since 2GB isn’t enough right now

Why would you go that far? That’s a terrible choice. Four gigabytes should be sufficient for a laptop, I think.

My Pentium laptop with 4 GB RAM and a 500 GB HDD performed well at first, though it felt sluggish on the very first day. After completing indexing, everything ran smoothly again. I plan to upgrade to an SSD next week.

The time it takes for your system to boot can vary depending on factors like hardware and software configuration.

You press the power button until it fits perfectly in a Snapchat clip, making the whole process quick. The interface jumps smoothly from the Acer logo to the welcome screen and then to the desktop without any delays. It feels more like using Windows navigation than booting up. Tasks like opening Explorer, settings, apps, and programs load noticeably faster on the 8.1 version.

I did it because I thought it might be useful during that period when this laptop was my primary computer (it proved helpful when working with an external screen and keeping two browser windows open). Yet I could have simply avoided using Chrome...
