I last spotted keys on Kinguin around a year ago, priced about $15. It's hard to say what they're worth now.
9/10 eBay transactions may be fraudulent. Kinguin operates in the grey market, which is generally acceptable but still subject to local regulations. Regarding your laptop, it will likely be an OEM key and won’t work with your new hardware since Windows keys are tied to the device. You could contact Microsoft for guidance on transferring it, but the safest choice is to get a fresh key. I purchase only complete licenses. You paid the full price for OEM Windows laptops when you bought them. If it doesn’t function with your MS account (which might not work), you’ll need to get another full-price license.
I haven't purchased any grey market or unofficial Windows keys. I prefer not to take any risks, and even if I weren't willing to pay, I could still use Windows for free—it would just fail to activate.
I purchased several discount keys from eBay. Two were regular keys that functioned properly, one was faulty but didn’t justify the effort, and the last was a volume key which definitely isn’t genuine, yet it works for launching random installs during hardware testing and VM usage. The duration they remain valid is unclear.
