Great progress so far! All the motherboard drivers were installed smoothly. The NVIDIA drivers for my RTX 2070 caused a crash, which makes me think the GPU drivers might be the issue. My plan is to test an older GPU driver or look into the warranty to see if a replacement is possible.
Use the specified driver and turn off automatic updates for the system.
You mentioned upgrading the graphics card recently. If you still have the old one, consider replacing it and reinstalling Windows. If the issue continues, it likely isn't related to the graphics card. Otherwise, you've identified the correct problem.
I added the LAN driver and other motherboard drivers, and everything worked well. I had another crash when installing the newest 2070 driver. This is my intention for this afternoon after work!
Ryzen 5 2600 is running at 4.075 GHz and I’m still struggling with stability at 4.1. Thanks for your support—I feel much better now that it’s working. The PCIe Gen 2 setup seems fine, so gaming shouldn’t be affected much. I’m submitting a warranty claim with ASUS for the faulty slot. Working from home made this issue really stressful when my PC would just stop unexpectedly.
