Hello once more. If you recognize the title, you understand what’s going on. It occurs roughly every few months and it unsettles me and bothers me. What might be happening? Memtest completed successfully. Thank you.

Navigate to power settings, select what the power button performs, and pick a custom setting. Adjust by scrolling to enable Fast Startup if desired, then dismiss it. Save your changes to apply and exit.

It could relate to the page file, a section of your hard drive used for virtual memory. I experienced repeated crashes with a similar error message, likely due to a failing hard drive that happened to be the one storing the page file. Running Check Disk might be helpful.

I share the same view too. A static page file size doesn’t change automatically and with 24GB RAM, the calculation suggests a pagefile size of around 60GB. That would require a large mapping address space, which older schemes don’t support. The system would likely face timeout issues that aren’t recognized as timeouts but as page faults.

recorded changes where I disabled the pagefile on the HDD and allocated a USB flash drive as the pagefile. mention that you can configure a NAS drive to serve as the pagefile, though this isn't advised.

OS is already utilizing the HDD, relocating the pagefile to another drive will boost system speed.

I don’t have the ability to delete anything. There are too many files for me to lose.

You have about 20GB remaining, and your friend thinks your disk isn't in good shape.

Disk condition isn't always tied to storage space. Even if a disk appears empty, poor health can cause similar problems. I recommend using Run ChkDisk to check for bad sectors.
