Your frustrations with Windows 10 center around the Edge browser, which feels unreliable and poorly designed.

Some users manage to turn off one core on the G3258, while others succeed on a Z97 board.

What is going on? My CPU stopped working a week back and I haven’t managed to get a replacement yet :c

This discussion is now crowded with Windows 10 conversations, making it hard to find original content. It seems better to direct these topics to official Microsoft channels.

I really miss the old Metro menu. They had a version with Windows 10, but it wasn’t as great as it used to be in 8.1. I enjoyed having everything ready to use instantly without having to minimize the window. Oh well.

The original interface was the main menu. Programs couldn't be placed directly on the left side but as tiles. Luckily, ClassicShell and Start10 are available. Start10’s layout appears more appealing than Windows 7. I’d like to remove IE11 and Cortana with an uninstall/reinstall option, so I don’t keep unused software. Lastly, the search feature in Windows 10 for the bar on the taskbar consumes too many CPU cycles. My chess rating dropped about 3% after that, so I turned it off. Start10’s start menu offers a Windows 7-style search without excessive resource use.

Absolutely, I've dealt with this before on my HTPC. Someone else on the recent topics list is experiencing the same problem. You can turn off a core, but you need to keep it disabled even after installing until a fix is released.

Has been generally positive so far; everything operates seamlessly, even the new style apps run smoothly on desktop. The only issue is how some features remain hidden. Building a fresh local user was tricky—you need to disable Microsoft account usage twice before it works. Let me handle that through the control panel, just like before. I’d also appreciate more customization for the start menu, particularly for the newer options.
