Hello, I have a Acer Aspire 5 A515-51G-504G. Lately I am experiencing that windows is pushing my HDD to 100% and there is nothing that is using HDD that much. This is a problem because I can not use my Laptop properly. I have tried all suggestions that you can find on Google but nothing helps. If somebody had same problem can you help me fix this? I tested the Disk and apparently he is 100% OK. Sorry for my bad English it is not my native language. Br, Dragan

Hello, I’m joining this discussion about a sad Windows 10 experience. It seemed like the system needed an SSD, which caused similar problems on my old laptop and others I’ve seen. A fresh installation could help, but over time it tends to return to full capacity. Since SSDs are now quite affordable, upgrading would be a quick solution.

You might want to verify for updates, drivers, or file indexing. Run a virus scan and review the resource monitor to identify activity on the hard drive.

Hello, thanks for the update. I’m considering moving to an SSD, but I was worried about whether it would solve a software problem. If it does, I’ll go ahead with the upgrade and share the result. Br, Dragan

Ensure Windows Update runs several times until it confirms completion with a green checkmark.

Hello everyone. Just wanted to let you know that after upgrading my laptop to an SSD, all my issues are resolved now. It feels like I have a brand new machine. Everything runs smoothly and the storage usage stays below 10% most of the time. Thanks @19_blackie_73 for the tip. I went with WD Blue M.2 SSD 500GB.
