Hey, your computer has been acting up lately. It used to only crash during games, but now it happens even when just browsing. At first I thought it was overheating, but temperatures stayed normal. Now it shuts down completely, turning the screen black and making fans spin at full speed. I’m not sure if it’s the GPU or the case fans. The only sound is the GPU making noise. I’ve tried updating BIOS and drivers, moving RAM around, and restarting one stick at a time. But the issue keeps coming back—especially after replacing the RAM slots on my old motherboard, which failed over time. Now a new RAM sticks work until then. I searched for similar problems but didn’t find any solutions. I’m hoping you can help me figure this out. Thanks in advance!

The concern lies in the airflow. Overheating will likely return. Inspect for any fan problems. Also verify the CPU and GPU thermal paste as shown here: https://www.startech.com.bd/thermal-paste

I wasn't experiencing overheating, I was monitoring temperatures during gameplay and the crash occurred when things were fine. All fans were spinning and I even ran tests with an open panel, but it still crashed. The CPU thermal paste was replaced about two months ago, and the GPU remains within normal ranges, so I haven't repasted it yet.

It might be your RAM failing, leading to errors and crashes. Issues with RAM can appear suddenly, making it hard to diagnose. Try Prime95 to check for errors—if any appear, you may need to replace the memory.

So I'm feeling pretty confused but it turned out to be something I completely overlooked because it's been there since I set it up. The issue was an EVGA extension for the GPU power cables (see attached), probably not very clean after all those years. I connected the cables straight to the GPU and everything seems to be working fine so far. Also, I almost replaced my RAM.
