New computer, fresh installation, Windows is acting weird. Keyboard presses are stuck, mouse stops working randomly for a few seconds. Start menu search doesn’t work. Background wallpaper shows wrong images at first and only fixes when I adjust the task bar position.

The keyboard and mouse issues might stem from external factors.

If `sfc /scannow` fails, I recommend attempting a fresh installation.

Environment here refers to various debris like hair, dust, food bits, etc. Inside keyboards it can quickly become dirty and enough buildup might block keys. Regarding the mouse, often a hair caught in the tracking zone—under the mouse where light and mirror meet—can cause issues. It might not be the main cause, but it adds another factor to consider.

That happened. I believe the window is freezing unexpectedly, and I’m not sure why. I also notice that images and other elements seem to freeze or stop moving.

It just repeated it once more—it feels like the buttons keep being pressed even when they shouldn't.

It could definitely be sticky keys. A good way to test would be to switch to a different keyboard and check if the issue persists.

System started using the mouse and keyboard, but the KB remains unresponsive. I don’t like Windows much. The SFC scan didn’t find anything.

It wouldn't function as sticky keys unless a specific key remained pressed. Have you attempted to start setup instead of launching Windows? What results did you observe then?
