It doesn’t matter if Windows 11 is some kind of spyware; many things can be spyware, but I have nothing to hide, so it doesn’t bother me.

That is the thing, what exactly is the concern? What exact problem did you encounter? Is the fact that something looks different the only concern here? And I'm sorry, if you have any OS issues, detailing the exact OS you have (inc. updates etc.) is crucial. Maybe find out first what OS you are concerned with. For all we know, he may have installed Zorin OS and thinks it is Windows. Or he is on W10 and applied some new themes.
