Windows 10 intermittently halts locating USB audio devices, leading YouTube and other services to lag or freeze.
Occasionally YouTube, Spotify, Plex or similar services will hang up and not load. It’s not due to a connection problem, but muting the video lets it play normally (without sound). Swapping the USB in and out often fixes it, though sometimes a restart is needed. If my PS5 controller is connected via USB, changing the DAC usually doesn’t help, possibly because Windows treats the DualSense as an audio device. The issue seems inconsistent—sometimes it happens midway through playback, other times not. Sometimes skipping audio for a while works, other times it doesn’t. I’ve reinstalled the DAC drivers and that didn’t help. People online mention similar fixes, but most advice is just to remove and reinsert the USB or headphones. Most suggestions about faster internet speed don’t seem to matter much. Hope someone has a better idea. Thanks!
Are the latest drivers installed? Did you check for new BIOS releases?
I've updated any drivers I can think of, but I hadn't thought about checking my BIOS tbf. I'll take a look and see if there's been an update.

Adjust audio output to the specific device you wish, as basic controls appear in the volume advance menu. I experienced the same issue with the PS5 using a headset, wanting to route sound and voice through it, but needing to switch the same setup for Warzone 3.
or a faulty headphone cable !!! usually close to the plug side !!! if you have a in-line mute/volume, it could be damaged !!!
