Windows 10 installation media fails to recognize a new SSD.
Windows 10 installation media fails to recognize a new SSD.
I bought a Thinkpad T490 with a 128GB NVMe PCIe storage and intended to upgrade it myself to cut costs. For the upgrade, I got the Silicon Power 512GB A80 NVMe PCIe Gen3x4 SSD from Amazon. The specs on the platform say it should work perfectly with my system. After installing the new drive, it was recognized in the BIOS. I used the Windows 10 Media Creation tool to make a USB installer and started the process. The installer didn’t see the larger drive. When I exited and restarted, the 512GB wasn’t listed again. I changed some BIOS settings and tried installing the IRST drivers during setup, but nothing helped the installer detect it. Anyone have suggestions or solutions for this issue?
