He recently got a new computer and had to swap out the hard drive and reinstall Windows 10. I helped him install it using a USB drive, but now his computer freezes with a black screen showing the Windows 10 logo and spinning circle when it boots from the USB. It’s been running for three hours without any progress. Anyone know why this is happening?

Another issue occurred after I reinstalled Windows on my laptop. I pressed the power button and restarted, and it functioned properly. Try this process to create a bootable USB from here and reinstall the OS: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software.../windows10

I've already restarted and reinstalled the file on the USB drive. Could the USB device itself be defective?

Consider using another USB port. Are there any crucial files stored on the boot disk? If not, apply DBAN to erase the drive and then attempt a fresh Windows installation.
