Windows 10 installation halted at the 24% stage.
My sister-in-law faced problems with her PC, especially when playing Overwatch. The crashes happened even though temperatures were normal. Switching to an SSD didn’t help. I used a USB drive with Windows 10 and reinstalled the OS. I also reset the CMOS and updated the BIOS. The computer would freeze at low and high percentages, sometimes showing a blue screen with the DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION error. We took it to MicroCenter to replace the motherboard and CPU. The new setup (new CPU, new motherboard) seems to be working well using parts from the old system. I’m wondering if the motherboard might have been damaged. Any advice would be appreciated!
Remove one stick, use another as a replacement, test each individually in the machine, observe stabilization effects.
The ram, ssd, gpu, and powersupply were replaced with a new system today and functioned properly. The previous cpu/motherboard appears to be the problem, though it’s unclear whether the issue lies with the CPU itself or with software/chips on the motherboard. Playing League of Legends was fine, but Overwatch crashed. It seems the crash might stem from a software or chip-related fault rather than a hardware failure.
The goal of using one stick in the machine is to check if the RAM is involved. If the system settles with just one stick, the problem likely lies with the RAM itself, or with how the board controls it.
