I got the same issue with Windows 11 using the media creation tool, still showing the same error. I'm really frustrated because I was hoping to finally get a good PC, but it's not working. I'll try installing via Rufus using Win 10 or 11 UEFI, disabling CSMOS and secure boot, and see how it goes.

Tried rufus gpt with csm off and secure boot active, completed the USB setup, then the M2 only recognized it as a connection rather than a bootable drive.

M2 is gpt, csm is off, secure boot is active, the USB installation completed yet upon restart it returns to BIOS since it can't locate a bootable drive.

Do you have any way to start from an EFI file manually or add an EFI boot entry in BIOS? If not, attempt using a third-party tool such as EasyUEFI (perhaps a 30-day trial could work) to create a Windows EFI boot entry, and check if it boots successfully. Although it can be somewhat risky, updating the BIOS to the latest version is recommended to eliminate one troubleshooting method.

i plan to bring back the motherboard and ssd. When i entered bootrec scanos, it detected the windows installation, but bootrec rebuildbc reported that the connected device isn't working properly.

Make sure to verify which items are covered under RMA. If both options are valid, it would be ideal. Sometimes a small portion of the product batch may not meet standards when opened.

I received a receipt along with a one-year warranty for all my PC components, I just filed the return form, hoping they will accept it.

Essentially, what you intended to express is that you are assured a one-year warranty. Nevertheless, some brands simply replace the products without checking, while others conduct their own testing. This is where they ought to verify any issues; if they don’t detect a problem, they should return the item, claiming no defect and stating RMA is impossible.
