I’m planning to upgrade my graphics card and SSD, switch to Windows 10, and clear out my old hard drive for a fresh start. My idea is to install Windows 10 on the new SSD while keeping Windows 7 running temporarily. I’m also downloading the media center and creating an installation on a flash drive. I’m worried about whether this approach will work smoothly and if it might damage my system.

Make sure to power down your PC completely before exchanging the cards. Running a GPU swap while the system is active is unnecessary and not advised.

A small mistake was made. I hadn’t thought about Windows 10 yet. I would shut down my PC before touching the GPU.
