For those who are familiar, I don't understand why Microsoft is offering this for free since it represents the top operating system available so far.

It's not ideal to rely on MS since Windows 7 and Win XP remain available. Still, it marks a positive shift, though GPU drivers require significant effort from Nvidia.

The drivers had some issues, but they functioned well for me, except during installation.

Perfect performance even on my Intel HD thus far. A great blend of Windows 7, 8 and a sleeker look. No issues encountered so far (except the installation itself), and I'm looking forward to using it with my 980!

That's odd, I guess. I managed to get Sli Running with my 980tis too.

Issue with Windows update driver and GeForce experience; crashes occurred after installing the latest Nvidia driver for my 780 on the desktop.

XP was awful. It’s hard to understand why so many people enjoyed it. You had to navigate a lot of obstacles to get anything done. Launch was a mess, needing two service packs to fix, and even then it wasn’t great. Performance was terrible—I haven’t seen XP run smoothly before.
